The lithium battery identification is the packaging instructions 965, 966 and 967 968, 969 and 970 section I additional requirements. It is also the identification specified in the additional requirements of section IB of packaging instructions 965 and 968, except for the class 9 lithium battery danger label and "cargo aircraft only" label. The identification is shown in Figure 7.1.1 of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) dangerous goods regulations C. The boundary of the mark must have a red slash shadow with a minimum width of 5mm. The symbol (- battery pack, - flames that have been damaged and are burning, above the UN number of lithium ion or lithium metal battery or lithium battery) must be black with white background or appropriate contrast background. The lithium battery logo can be printed directly on the outer package, provided that there is sufficient contrast between the logo and the color of the packaging material. The minimum size is 100mm wide x 100mm high. If the package size is limited, the length / line thickness can be reduced to not less than 100mm wide x 70mm high.

This telephone number should be for those who know the freight, but not for the purpose of obtaining immediate guidance in case of emergency. Therefore, it is not necessary to use a telephone number that can always be contacted during package transportation. Telephone numbers that can be reached during normal business hours of the company can be used to provide information about specific products related to shipment. However, the 24-hour telephone number for emergency response can also be used on the lithium battery identification.

The identification can contain all applicable UN numbers, such as UN 3091 and UN 3481, to define that lithium metal batteries (and lithium-ion batteries) are transported separately, packaged with the equipment, or built in the equipment.
