18650 battery cell is mainly composed of positive electrode, negative electrode, diaphragm, positive and negative collector, safety valve, overcurrent protection device, insulator and shell. There were many steel shells in the early stage, and aluminum shells are mainly used at present. The design of single overcurrent protection device is different from each manufacturer, and the price is also different according to different safety requirements.
一General safety devices mainly include PTC positive temperature coefficient resistance and fuse device. PTC, when there is excessive current, the resistance heats up, and the temperature accumulation promotes the rise of PTC resistance. When the temperature exceeds a national value, it increases sharply, which is equivalent to isolating the faulty cell from the overall circuit to avoid further thermal runaway. In principle, the fuse device is a fuse one by one. In case of excessive current, the fuse will fuse and the circuit will be disconnected. The difference between the two protection devices is that the former can be recovered, and the latter protection is one-time, -- once a fault occurs, the cell needs to be replaced. 18650 battery is widely used in various electronic products.
