Extrusion test
UN38. 3 certification
Test requirements

Extrusion (for prismatic, bagged, coin / button batteries and cylindrical batteries less than 18 mm in diameter)
Squeeze the battery or component battery between two planes, and the extrusion force gradually increases. The speed at the first contact point is about 1.5 cm / s. The extrusion continues until one of the following three conditions occurs:
1.The applied force reaches 13kn + 0.78kn;
2.The battery voltage drops by at least 100 mV;
3.The deformation of the battery reaches more than 50% of the original thickness。
Prismatic or bagged batteries shall be pressed from the widest side. Button / coin batteries shall be pressed from their flat surfaces. The cylindrical type shall be pressed in a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal axis.
Results: the maximum surface temperature of the cell or battery shall not exceed 170C. Within 6 hours after the test, the cell and polymer cell shall be free from disintegration and ignition.

UL certification
Test requirements

The battery is tested at an ambient temperature of 20 ° C + 5 ° C. The battery is crushed between two planes. Extrusion force is provided by a hydraulic piston or similar force mechanism. The extrusion plane is in continuous contact with the battery until the extrusion force is 13kn + 1kn.
Once the maximum extrusion force is obtained, it is released.·
The longitudinal axis of cylindrical or prismatic battery shall be parallel to the extrusion surface for extrusion test. The edge battery rotates 90 ° around its longitudinal axis, so that its wide and narrow edges are squeezed. Each sample cell is squeezed in only one direction.
Separate samples shall be used for each test. The button battery is subjected to extrusion test when its plane is parallel to the extrusion surface.
Result: no fire, no explosion.

CQC certification
Test requirements

Place the battery in two planes and squeeze it perpendicular to the direction of the electrode plate, and apply a pressing force of 13.0kn + 0.78kn between the two plates. Once the pressure reaches the maximum value, the extrusion test can be stopped, and the battery cannot have external short circuit during the test.
When the cylindrical battery is extruded, make its longitudinal axis parallel to the two flat plates. The square battery and flexible packaging battery only conduct the extrusion test on the wide surface of the battery. The button battery adopts the way that the upper and lower sides of the battery are parallel to the two flat plates.
Result: no fire, no explosion.

CB certification
Test requirements

The battery is transferred and crushed between two planes at ambient temperature. The crushing force is applied by the device applying 13kn + 0.78kn force. Once the pressure reaches the maximum value, the voltage drops sharply to one-third of the original voltage, and the force is released.
The longitudinal axis of cylindrical or prismatic battery shall be parallel to the extrusion surface for extrusion test. The square battery only carries out the extrusion test on the wide surface of the battery. The button type battery shall be extruded by the way that the upper and lower sides of the battery are parallel to the two flat plates.
Result: no fire, no explosion.
